In direct response to recently released safety statistics, Atlas Knowledge, a leading provider of digital learning solutions, announces the launch of its accredited Core4 Safety at Work campaign to champion safe working practices across safety critical industries.
The Office of National Statistics (ONS) and HSE RIDDOR found that in 2015/16 the rate of reported non-fatal injuries within construction, manufacturing and transportation & storage industries were significantly greater* than any other UK-based industry.
They also found that non-fatal injury within these sectors occurred within four key areas; slips, trips and falls on the same level, injured while handling, lifting or carrying, struck by a moving (including flying/falling) object and falls from height.
Since 1995, Atlas has specialised in the energy sector and oil & gas industry, where stringent controls have led to some of lowest incident rates and highest safety standards. The report findings revealed a need to introduce Energy sector best practices into these similarly safety critical industries.
Consequently, Atlas Knowledge’s Core4 Safety at Work courses focus on equipping personnel with CPD and RoSPA accredited skills to specifically help prevent these types of accidents in the workplace.
